Every parish has a wealth of history and it is often recorded in different forms by different authorities. Here we have assembled some items relating to St Mary’s Parish, Corowa. Click on a title to access the item.
1. The extensive 1878-1978 History compiled for the centenary of the parish is the most important and is very representative of our earliest times as a parish. It is divided into Chapters, representing the sections in the original book.
2. The ‘Short History’ is an easy and quick read.
3. The “Roman Catholic Fete and Queen Coronation,” extracted from The Corowa Free Press in 1922, shows how the early members of the parish worked closely as a community to raise funds to pay for the then newly-opened St Mary’s Star of the Sea parish church. Our Sincere thanks to Miss Anne Kingston of Coreen for the research and submitting this item.
