3rd Sunday of Advent 2015
Mercy – Frankly!
This book FRANKLY is about reaching those who have left the faith, or those searching for it. Take a copy and share it with members of the family who may be in that situation. It is a Christmas gift from St Mary’s Parish to your family.
The book contains articles about living Catholic life in our difficult secular society. Many of the insights shed light on how faith is important for everyday living, and offer ideas on coping with the many non-Christian and counter-Christian values we face in Australia. Act on faith, and share Frankly with your family! A gift of mercy from you to them.
Pray for peace
The world is, in Pope Francis’ words, already engaged piecemeal in World War III; it is being fought simultaneously in many parts of the world.
Pope Francis said on Saturday (12.Sept.) at a memorial service for Italian soldiers who died in WWI, “Even today, after the second failure of another world war, perhaps one can speak of a third war, one fought piecemeal, with crimes, massacres, destruction,” he said. “Humanity needs to weep and this is the time to weep…”
We long for the peace of Christ, especially at Christmas. We long for it in our families, our towns and across the world. As private citizens of faith, prayer is always within our grasp. We can pray as individuals, as families, and as a parish.
If we are faithful to these responsibilities, we can be confident God’s grace will be at work in all situations. Let us trust in His mercy and implore Mary for help in the Rosary.
