21st SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Yr. B
WORLD YOUTH DAY 2016 AWARENESS & PRAYERS
This week BISHOP HANNA issued an invitation to all families and young people in the diocese to pray for the success of the forth-coming 2016 World Youth Day in Poland.
Bishop Hanna also extended a warm invitation and generous offer to young Catholics of the diocese to attend that big event next year. He has committed the diocese and each parish to paying two-thirds of the total cost of the pilgrimage trip.
This week SEVERAL COROWA CATHOLIC FAMILIES have been contacted to consider the offer and to pray and discern about the possibility of one or more of their young people attending World Youth Day in 2016.
Why bother? This is the natural question that rises to mind when an event is a year away and a world away in Poland.
ANSWER: FAITH. It is all about faith in God in a culture that is so inimical to all things spiritual and the practice of one’s faith. If there are steps that can be taken to strengthen and quicken the faith of young people who are facing a world that widely rejects God, we should take those steps.
As ADULT CUSTODIANS OF FAITH, we owe young people the best possible support and the most valuable opportunities to discover the richness and the power of a lived relationship with Jesus Christ. When we have done this we may be confident the next generation of Catholic leaders will not only be well-versed in the faith, but on fire to spread the love of God.
Let us pray for the families in the parish who may be able to participate in the 2016 WYD.
OTHER FAMILIES with young people (18-35 yrs) who would like to accept the offer, please contact Fr Hart. – Sorry to have overlooked you. All things are possible – with prayer and with God!

THE JOURNEY CATHOLIC RADIO PROGRAM – 23 AUGUST 2015
This week on The Journey our presenters get straight to the point with some powerful messages to help us in our weekly walk with God. It’s great to have Fr Richard Healey back this week with his thoughts on the Gospel. Sr Hilda isn’t mucking around with her input this week either as she addresses the issue of pain and the Pirolas challenge us with a piece entitled “Flashy Wedding Short Marriage”.
